Hiking and Mountain Biking opportunities near and around Boise are vast. Ridges to Rivers Trail System give users local opportunities to explore the foothills while more extended sojourns offer greater rugged adventures into Idaho’s vast wilderness. While most of the trails lie on public lands some do cross private property. Private property owners who do allow use of their trails are becoming fewer and fewer due to trail user neglect. When hiking on private property keep in mind it is a privilege not a right to use their trails. Keep your dog on a leash and do not ride a mountain bike on private property without specific permissions to do so. All directions to the trail heads start from the Veterans Memorial Park.
