Headwaters Trail to Trail Creek<\/strong> is a gem among gems near the Sun Valley region. This route offers mostly trailless hiking through some of the most remote mountain terrain Idaho has to offer. The trail forks into west and east drainages: the east drainage requires two easy, bridgeless crossings of Trail Creek, while the west involves only one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Strong map-reading skills are essential for anyone attempting the full loop over the 10,100-foot pass. The trail becomes virtually nonexistent in alpine zones and in areas outside of the pine forests, making navigation especially challenging and rewarding for experienced backcountry explorers. Access road to the parking area is currently in good shape and accessible to most high and medium clearance vehicles. No signage for the access road currently exists so good map reading skills will be necessary to find the trailhead. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fishing opportunities for Brook Trout exist in the lower sections of the streams. <\/p>\n\n\n
